1 Open Firefox and erase your homepage address from the address bar.

2 Type "About:Config" without the quotes in the address bar, then press "Enter."

3 Click the "I`ll be careful, I promise" button.

4 Scroll through the list to navigate the settings, or type in the "Filter" box a specific setting's name.

5 Modify an "On" or "Off" setting by right-clicking and selecting "Toggle."
 
6 Modify a value based settings by right-clicking and selecting "Modify."

7 Search for the following within the settings registry for the most common options and recommended settings for a broadband connection.

network.http.max-connections= Recommended setting "32"

network.http.max-connections-per-server= Recommended setting "16"

network.http.pipelining=Recommended setting "True"

network.http.pipelining.maxrequests=Recommended setting "8"

8 Restart Firefox for changes to take effect.
